IMMEDIATE NECESSITY FOR COUNTERMEASURES

The growth rate of the world population is abysmal. I do not want to be a bad news messenger but nowadays we are escalating by almost one billion persons every ten - twelve years. I am not afraid for food as new technologies and practices are moving ahead . Agricultural techniques are improving... Farmers are better educated ... Fertilizers and pesticides are more efficient.

When Ceauşescu in Romania took control and got the power 1965 banned legal abortion to increase the population. Conservative Jews are still trying to have as much children as they can. Such attempts may look irrational but still are a fact. African countries still have very high growth rates.

Can we say that poverty is diminishing generally in the world? This depends as from the stand point of where you are.  Evaluating from Switzerland or Japan might be delusive and disappointing .But when comparing from China's or India's historical progression during the last decades everything could be more promising.

The income gap between rich and poor countries are growing but can we pretend that this is bad? Moreover the monetary comparison does not reflect the reality. The power of purchase is so different ! In Europe 1000 euros is the minimum wage while in Turkey the same amount is a good wage. And if in a family both parents works with such salary you are seen as rich.

The new world have created never seen rich people such as Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg until now. It is not much discussed whether  such very rich people are good for the country they live or even for the world itself? We see most of them endeavoring  for any kind of possible charity and creating foundations for the improvement some specific weaknesses we have in the world.

We know that very rich and big companies may be very oppressive or coercive too in the market. Tobacco factories is the best example. All the world know that cigarettes are dangerous and cause lung cancer but nobody is talking about banning totally sales. The same apply for popular soft drinks and many other sugary beverages.  But we keep complaining about fast food and cola addiction resulting the widespread obesity .

Baby boom generation will pass away roughly in 2040's, therefore we can predict easily that  the world population will come closer to 10 billion by than.

All efforts must be put to tumble down the birth rate  before it is too late.
