FAST IMPROVEMENTS NEEDED AND EXPECTED IN TWO MAJOR INDUSTRIES

“Wood” must be the first fuel to fulfill the need of energy at the beginning of homo sapiens or neanderthals. It contains roughly 3000-4000 kcal/kg  and can be kept for a very long time. Only a tiny transportation and storage effort is needed. Than it comes the discovery of “coal” doubling the energy content within the same amount of substance (4000-7000 Kcal/kg). With the petroleum mankind reach the pinnacle of its discoveries. (10000 Kcal/kg)

Coal and petroleum availability are limited in our world and will be soon exhausted within few centuries. Also have big environmental pollution disadvantage. But sooner or later will be used as ready energy source.

Sunlight is a marvelous energy source. But the cost of the solar panels and limitations of the energy storage, its usage is still small. Its unavailability during nights and cloudy days also a bid disadvan -tage.

In reality one hour of sunlight energy is far enough for whole world annual requirement but we are facing a storage barrier. Battery industry is still struggling hard to improve its capacity limitations. Lithium ion batteries are 21. Century biggest novelty. We started to use even in electric cars already.

We can expect very easily that in the near future we will have a quicker chargeable batteries with increasingly holding capacity. Is there a natural limit of capacity? For sure… At the end we are handling electrons ! But there is still quite long way to go until we reach to the quantum level.

The difficulty is in its nature. There is no any archetype to investigate and work on its reverse engineering .

At the beginning of the industry revolution  the usage of energy required three stage ,while in every step there was important losses . Producing steam from coal and using a steam engine to produce electricity is low yield process. The same applies to petroleum products .

Generators powered by internal combustion engines in cars was a very important breakthrough of the last century. It deleted one stage in converting the energy into power. Jet engines are one step ahead which lowered the ticket prices incredibly. Today with the rocket industry is working on to fasten our air flights. We don't have to forget the history of Concorde failure. Tarvelling from Sydney to New York in two hours is nice but it must be affordable .

Better batteries and better engines are the next challenges of the technological industries..

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE

You must have read a lot of articles on various places in world and even visited some them . But how are we going to judge the best place to live? Pittoresque photographs look always very appealing in the newspapers or magazines.

If you ask to the Eskimos in Siberia - Alasca or Tuaregs in Burkina Faso they will tell you probably that their place is the best . How it is possible in such a big variation of climate and environment, people thoughts are different

We do have genetic differences for sure. While the black skin is protecting from the sun light in Ecuatorial areas a white skin of Siberians is absorbing available light as much possible.

Also habits ,cutoms and traditions are making our life more happier than in reality it is. Eskimos have over hundred depiction of the snow while Tuaregs know  none of them.

We need food and shelter primarly. Than it comes reproduction according to Maslow need hierarchy. At this stage we cannot live alone, we need community where social problems start.

There is no any written laws in the nature. Big fish eats small fish. The strong are always best at proving they are right , as Lafontaine wrote. Hammurabi thought that being strong and big must not be way of evaluation the good and bad behaviour  of mankind. The easiest solution was to set the law to egalitarianism. “Eye for an eye tooth for a tooth”. But this failed to solve social problems .

When a big fish eats a small fish it is normal , but when you eat a person it is cannibalism - the biggest crime of today.

When you live alone in the nature you can not commit any crime. Fruits of the trees are yours , fishes of the river are free. You are the lawmaker as long as you dont become the prey of a ferocious animal.

Why there is no faith in the nature? The ten commendments become senseless if you live alone in the nature. There is nobody to kill, nobody to adulterate , bear false witness or covet.

Can we say faith start in society?

HEAD HUNTING

I had a friend visitor last week-end from Istanbul. We chat all day long. The conversation came to our children while he said that his son ( 28) who just graduated with a degree from the university where he studied “Comparable English Literature”. Immediately after  he was his application for doctorate to Stanford University was accepted. Now he is continuing to study with full scholarship for five years, paid housing and a small income for a living.

Isn’t it very miraculous? A brilliant Turkish guy attracted with marvelous conditions to the best university in the world. I am more astonished as he is not a high-tech man , nor a programmer.
He did not invent anything neither he is the owner a successful start-up.

I am pretty sure that the administration of this university is very farsighted. But why we are unable to evaluate the opportunity in our native country ?

Looks like a hat trick or magic !
